Hotel Review: The Club Saujana Resort, Malaysia

School's out and it's the perfect time to bring your family on a staycation. Recently, we had the pleasure of staying at The Club, Saujana Resort and I would gladly recommend it to anyone as a fun family vacation / staycation spot.

The Club Saujana Resort is a unique luxury boutique hotel and  located 10 minutes away from Subang Skypark Airport and 35 minutes from Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). It is also part of the exclusive Small Luxury Hotel (SLH) programme.

The resort is surrounded by 160 hectares of lush tropical forest gardens and water features, hence making this the ideal urban retreat for those looking for an escape from the city. The Club features 105 elegant suite sized rooms; room sizes range from 43 sqm to 176 sqm. Room rates start from RM695 for the Club Room.

During our staycation, we stayed in the Executive Suite (122 sq m), one of three in the resort. The suite was impressively spacious, with a separate bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom and living and dining area.  Luxuriously appointed in contemporary Asian style, we loved the decor and interior of the suite. The bedroom comes with a king sized bed and overlooks the golf course and swimming pool. There is a work desk, as well as plasma TV in the bedroom. Complimentary wi-fi is available in all rooms and suites.

In the living and dining area, there is another plasma TV, iPod docking station, a dining table and seating area. However, for families, it is advisable to bring along some cartoons on DVD as they currently do not offer any children's channel here. There is a well-stocked mini bar, Nespresso coffee machine and they also provide chocolates and cookies upon request.

The bathroom is lavish, with a sunken bath tub and a separate toilet, shower room (with powerful rain forest shower) and two wash basins. The kids really enjoyed their bath time here. ;)

Guests can enjoy evening cocktails and canapes at The Lounge or Terrace in the evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Buffet breakfast is served at The Restaurant from 6.30am to 10.30am daily. The Restaurant is the only restaurant in The Club Saujana Resort, however guests can also go over to The Saujana Hotel (a short walk away) for Japanese food at Kogetsu, Italian at Senja or all-day dining or buffet at Charcoal. A shuttle service is also available to ferry you to The Saujana Golf and Country Club to dine at Ti Chen Chinese Restaurant or for a spot of golf.  There are two 18-hole world-class and award winning golf courses available here.

Breakfast at The Restaurant

There is a 36-metre swimming pool in The Club, however it is an adult-only pool. If you're here with your family, fret not, as you can check out the pool nearby at The Saujana Hotel - your kids will love it there! The free-form pool comes with a slide, hours of fun guaranteed! ;)

There is also a small play area for your kids and bicycles for loan at the pool area. For the adults, there is a fitness centre located in The Spa at The Club. The Spa also offers various Asian-inspired spa treatments for those looking for relaxing pampering. Guests staying at The Club can enjoy an introductory spa offer at a special rate of RM150 nett for 60 minutes treatment.
