Resort Seafood, Resort Hotel, Genting Highlands

On our final night in Genting, we were treated to a lavish seafood dinner at Resort Seafood restaurant. Located in Resort Hotel, this restaurant is popular with families, and serves a variety of fresh and live seafood. The interior is modern and spacious.


You can choose from mud crabs, Australian lobster, green lobster, Boston lobster, garoupa, tiger garoupa, siakap, red tilapia, jade perch, marble goby (soon hock), Norway black tilapia, pak so kong and more...... there are really a lot to choose from, and you can also choose the cooking style that you like for your seafood. Most of the seafood here are charged based on market price. 

To start, we had the Patin fish steamed with cili padi (RM90/kg) - been a while since I had patin, and this was really good. Fish was fresh with a tinge of spiciness from the cili padi. Kids thoroughly enjoyed this too, with Baby D asking me for seconds and thirds. 



We also had the French-style cheese baked Boston lobster (RM380/kg). Scored a huge claw which easily dislodged from the shell revealing juicy, fresh lobster meat. Indulgence! ;)


This is simplicity at its best - allowing the natural sweetness and freshness of the prawns to shine. The grass prawn (RM140/kg) is simply poached - one worth getting your hands dirty for! The meat was taut, juicy and sweet :)


Even the beancurd dish that we had was super indulgent - claypot sea cucumber and bean curd (RM123 for medium). The sea cucumber was nicely cooked, retaining its bouncy texture. Love the gravy too which goes well with the rice.



One of the signature dishes here is the crispy smoked duck (RM63 for medium). As the name suggests, the outer layer is crisp with succulent meat within.


Good ol' fried egg with seafood and onions (RM46 for large).



Superior spinach soup (RM50 for large), topped with tofu and deep fried century egg.

Added on a sweet and sour chicken (RM54 for large) which the kids enjoyed! Juicy and crisp.


Mango pudding - very good!


We also sampled a couple of specialty health juices from Simply Fresh, located next to Resort Seafood. We tried the Ose's Liver Tonic (RM14) consisting of apple, celery, beetroot, carrot, lemon and ginger as well as the Gout Prevention (RM14) made with apple, strawberry, celery and lemon.






Opening times: 12.00noon - 2.30pm (Lunch), 6.00pm - 9.30pm (Dinner) daily.

Price: Total bill was RM2270 for 2 tables.

    I have not been to Genting Highland for such a long time... like more than 25 years ago??? This restaurant looks great. It will be the place to dine if I'm visiting Genting again.
