Best porridge in Seremban!

**Update (26/12/2015): This stall has moved location to Taman Suria, Jalan Tun Dr Ismail (2 doors down from 7-eleven). GPS Coordinates: 2.739500, 101.925491. Chee chap chuk is RM4.50 per bowl now.

When The Unc is back, we always go on a "eating spree". Eating all the food he likes and craves. One of the things that never fail to appear on his food list is the chee chap chuk (offal porridge) from this stall inside Kedai Makanan dan Minuman Kawan. This famous stall was previously located at Jalan Veloo and have been in business for more than 20 years!

At first, I thought The Unc was mad for even contemplating to eat hot porridge in a hot shop on a hot evening. Usually, we tapau (buy back) the porridge and eat in the comfort of our home. But, they say that food is never "as-nice tapau-ed" than eating it immediately served piping hot in the shop. I have to agree.

A big bowl of chee chap chuk costs only RM3.50 here. Smooth, thick, flavoursome porridge full of pork goodness - tripe, liver, lean pork and deep fried intestines. Offal is not awful, but AWESOME in this case.

One of the things you have to try here as well is the pak cham kai (chicken steeped in stock or steamed chicken). Deliciously smooth chicken, drizzled with sesame oil and soy sauce. We always order RM15 worth of chicken breast, and sometimes we even go for seconds. If you do not like your meat bloody, then may I suggest that you ask for the breast meat.

Verdict: We really love the porridge and steamed chicken here, despite the hot weather! We come here almost twice a week when The Unc is home - it really is that good!

Opening times: 6.00 pm - sold off. Closed on Tuesdays (The shop opens around 6pm but they usually start serving around 6.15. Do come early to avoid disappointment. Once we noticed that the chicken was sold off by 7pm! Business is very good.)

Food: If you do not fancy offal, there is always chicken or fish porridge or chicken rice.
