YU 御, The Gardens Mall: Hi-Tea Dim Sum

Sip on Chinese tea and indulge in a hi-tea with an Oriental twist, at YU 御 by Ruyi. Located at The Gardens Mall, YU 御 is an intimate Chinese restaurant serving pork-free modern Chinese cuisine.

The Hi-Tea Dim Sum set is available on weekdays (excluding Public Holidays) from 2pm to 4pm and includes delicate handmade dim sum and a delicious Bird's Nest dessert. Priced at RM98 for 2 pax, the set also comes with your choice of two drinks (choice of juice, soft drinks, coffee or tea).

Hubby and I visited YU 御 one fine Monday and thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely afternoon at the restaurant. The set came with two identical steamer baskets, filled with most of their signature items such as the Sakura prawn dumpling, Shanghai xiao long bao, Beetroot scallop dumpling, Truffle seafood dumpling, Beancurd pomegranate and Siew mai. We could definitely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients used in their steamed dim sum.

On the two-tier set, you will find deep fried / pan fried items along with dessert. Some of my personal favourites include the adorable Wagyu puff, shaped like a bull, Crispy swan with smoked duck and Golden foie gras puff. Other fried items include Traditional yam puff, Crispy spring roll, Crispy bean curd prawn roll, Kataifi mango roll, HK style glutinous dumpling (ham sui kok) and Portuguese egg tart. For dessert, enjoy the HK style thousand layer cake, White lotus salted egg yolk hedgehog bun, Playboy lava carrot with peanut filling, Gula melaka honeycomb cake and a refreshing, indulgent Bird's Nest lemongrass infusion with basil seeds and mixed fruits.

Overall, a great selection of freshly made dim sum paired with excellent service and an exquisite ambiance. Perfect for an afternoon catch up with your friends, loved ones or business associates.
