Christmas at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur + Toys for Tots Charity Campaign

JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur ushered the year end festivities in recently with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and the launch of Toys for Tots charity campaign.

Officiated by Area General Manager Mr Mahmoud Skaf, the Toys for Tots charity campaign is a benefit event hosted yearly by the hotel to bring joy to children from selected charity homes. Children from participating homes have the opportunity to have their Christmas wishes displayed on the hotel’s impressive Christmas tree at the Lobby. This year, there are 200 Christmas wishes submitted by the children of Rumah Kebajikan & Anak Yatim Darul Najjah, Rumah Victory, Rumah Hope, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary and Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Home of Peace Kuala Lumpur.

Guests and members of the public can grant their wishes by contributing gifts or donating funds for the purchase of these gifts.

The evening commenced with Christmas carols by children from the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), followed by a countdown to light up the Christmas tree with the children, hotel guests, employees and members of the media. There was also a special appearance by Santa Claus and the children from the homes were treated to a luscious spread of festive dinner, eggnog and cookies.

  1. Yes, last year, my girl gave all her soft toys to a church near her jungle school for the poor rural ethnic kids. Christmas is the time for loving and giving.
