Hotel Review: Impiana KLCC Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur in the Golden Triangle stands Impiana KLCC Hotel. Boasting partial views of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, this deluxe business hotel boasts a total of 519 rooms and suites. It is the only hotel in Kuala Lumpur that is connected via a fully air-conditioned Sky Bridge to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Twin Towers and the city’s premier shopping complexes in KLCC and Bukit Bintang.

Our first impression was that the Club Deluxe King room was spacious and modern. The room was well-appointed, with a comfortable king-sized bed, LCD TV, coffee/tea making facilities as well as a bathtub and separate shower in the marble bathroom. Guests can also request for extra pillows from the pillow menu.

Turndown service - chocolates and fresh fruits

Club Floor guests receive complimentary access to the Club Lounge, located on the 15th Floor. Open daily from 7am to 11pm, guests can enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea (3pm - 5pm) ,as well as daily evening cocktails with canapes (5.30pm to 7.30pm). I enjoyed having my breakfast here, as it is pretty quiet and relaxed, plus the staff here are attentive. The selection of light bites provided during afternoon tea and evening cocktail are pretty impressive with quite a wide variety, so it is definitely worth getting a room category with access to the lounge. Best of all, you get a great view of the Twin Towers from one of the large picture windows in the lounge.

Love the view!

Breakfast : a variety of pastries, eggs cooked to order, nasi lemak, dim sum and noodles.

Afternoon tea

Evening cocktails

The infinity pool (1.3m deep) located on Level 4 also comes with a view of the Petronas Twin Towers. There is also a fully-equipped gym and the award-winning Swasana Spa on this level.

The hotel's dining options include the all-day dining restaurant, Tonka Bean Cafe & Deli as well as a rooftop restaurant and lounge, Cedar on 15. The latter is helmed by German Chef Romano Kreutz, who brings with him over 10 years of culinary experience in top hotels such as The Kempinski Hotels and Movenpick Africa. The modern, contemporary restaurant offers weekday lunches and is a great place for sundowners and a romantic meal come night.

Some of the dishes which we tried from the Lunch Menu include the artistic Appetizer a la' Nicoise (RM33), a deconstructed version of the classic nicoise salad, with 40-degree Sous Vide tuna, snow peas, confit potato and tarragon creme.

My personal favorite was the Rich Fish Broth (RM38), with accents of lemongrass and chilli along with cod fish, gyoza and dill. Light and flavorful.

For those who would like a taste of Germany, you can get currywurst or the Honey Bee (or bee sting) cake with apricot sorbet and vanilla creme.

  1. I've never stayed at a hotel around there - perhaps it is high time I give it a try. Crown Princess a long time ago wasn't exactly a stone's throw away.
