Haji Shariff Cendol, Seremban

A bowl of refreshing cendol is exactly what you need to cool down on a hot day. Everytime we visit Seremban, we will go to Haji Shariff Cendol located at Jalan Yam Tuan. It simply is the best in town :)

Cendol is a cold dessert consisting of shaved ice, coconut milk, green jelly strands and gula melaka (palm sugar). There are 6 types of cendol served here, with prices starting from RM1.50; cendol biasa (normal), cendol pulut (glutinous rice), cendol kacang (red bean), cendol jagung (sweet corn), cendol campur (assorted), and cendol bandung. They also have ABC, rojak, rojak mee and rojak mamak.

Ordering is now self-service. To order, you will have to head to the cendol counter (there is one side for takeaway and one for dine-in), place your order, pay, wait for your cendol and bring it to your table on a tray.

The cendol you find here is authentic Jawa cendol; it is served in a double layer stainless steel bowl to keep it cold. We love the cendol pulut (RM2) here; the taste is well-balanced in terms of creaminess and sweetness, and they are generous with the pulut rice- wonderfully sticky and slightly salty so it's the perfect pairing for the sweet cendol. As mentioned previously the cendol here is all natural with no artificial colouring added. The colour comes from the pandan leaves, so the cendol here is very light green in colour.
