Value Set Dinner @ Dorsett Kuala Lumpur

Everyone loves a good bargain.. me included!

Dorsett Kuala Lumpur is offering a 4-course Value Set dinner for RM55 nett per person at Checkers Restaurant and as the name suggests, it is great value for money. For smaller eaters, there is also a 3-course option available from RM49 per person.

Diners will get to choose from a list of appetizers, soups, mains and dessert. We went for the 3-course option, and started with the Mango Salad and Trilogy Mushroom Soup. The mango salad, which is  Thai-inspired version comes with dried shrimp, roasted peanuts and fish cracker; it was spicy and slightly tangy and had great texture.  The wild mushroom soup finished with cream was extremely rich.

For mains, diners can choose from a range of Western delights (grilled chicken, chicken chop, seabass) or pasta (aglio olio, carbonara, arrabiatta) or Asian specialties (curry noodles, Cantonese noodles, mee mamak, fried rice). Hubby went for the Lamb eye shoulder with lemon thyme sauce while I had the Grain fed beef with pepper sauce. We were satisfied with our choices - the lamb portion was generous and the meat was nice and flavorful.

The steak was very good for the price; cooked to medium doneness as requested and was tender.

For dessert, we had the Japanese baked cheese cake and Salted caramel torte, and they were both delicious. Coffee or tea is included with your meal.
