Lau Heong Seafood Restaurant, Sentul

Several weeks ago, we met up with our friend here at Sentul for dinner before attending a show at klpac. She suggested Restoran Makanan Laut Lau Heong as she likes their chicken wings and fish head curry.



Service is friendly and prompt. First to arrive was the Siong tong la la  (superior clam soup); I saw many articles plastered around the restaurant and they all recommended this. It was very good, the lala clams were fresh and pretty plump, and the broth was delicious, thanks to the addition of dongquai and Chinese wine.



One of the signature dishes here are the deep fried chicken wings. The skin was amazingly crispy while the meat was juicy and well-marinated with nam yue. It's easy to see why everyone loves this!




Fish curry is also a must-order here. You can specify if you would like fish head or fish meat, and we went for the former. The curry is fairly thick with beancurd  and vegetables such as long beans and brinjal, though I do feel that it is missing a certain something to give it the extra oomph. Nevertheless, the sauce is great with rice.




We enquired if they did salted egg squid, and they said yes, so we had to order it. It certainly did not disappoint - crispy squid in a delicious salted egg coating. Definitely worth all the calories.



Romaine lettuce with fermented bean curd (fu yu yau mak) to meet our vegetable quota.




Overall, a very enjoyable meal. I will certainly return here if we are in the area.
