Saturday Night Vibes @ Shook! KL, Feast Village Starhill Gallery

Saturday nights just got better, thanks to Shook! Kuala Lumpur's all-new dining concept Saturday Night Vibes which brings fantastic food and electrifying live performances to diners, all under one roof. Introduced earlier this month, the Cirque du Culinaire experience features an extensive buffet spread as well as an ever-changing list of live performances and entertainment.

We just returned from our 49 days in Scotland, so we welcomed the invitation to spend some quality time together alone, sipping on wines while enjoying good food and music. A no-kids SaturDATE ;)

As soon as we were seated, our glasses were filled with our choice of wine and the wait staff also brought us their signature cocktail, the Aperol Spritz to kick start the evening.

There is simply so much to try on the buffet spread (available 7pm to 10pm). We were impressed with the vast Japanese selection featuring fresh sashimi (tuna, salmon, butterfish and kampachi), sushi, maki, tempura and teppanyaki. Seafood lovers will also be pleased with the selection of freshly shucked Pacific oysters, and various seafood on ice such as local lobster, half shell scallop, king prawns and flower crab.

For those who prefer their seafood cooked, indulge in the Oyster gratin, Crispy squid ring with salt and pepper, Kungpo style clams, Sweet and sour slipper lobster or Kam heong style bamboo clams.

Roast Duck

There are also freshly made pizzas, lobster risotto, as well as a variety of antipasti such as Eggplant and ricotta salad, Italian seafood salad, Baby octopus salad, Grilled artichoke and more.

Don't miss the grilled a la minute rib eye steak, the delicious crisp-yet-airy macarons (look out for the caramel ones) and the impressive cheese selection - my personal favourites from the buffet spread.

Grilled to perfection - medium doneness with a beautiful char

Other than the buffet spread, selected premium items are brought to your table allowing you to relax and enjoy the pampering while listening to the background music or be entertained by the guest magician. I was most happy when sang har meen was served to our table.. the Asian in me has been missing Chinese food immensely and this definitely hit the spot.I enjoyed it so much that I asked for seconds. ;)

We also enjoyed the Seafood paella, Braised Wagyu beef cheeks, Snow White dancing prawns, and Five-spice rack of lamb (beautifully pink and tender, served with truffle mash) immensely.

Come 9.30pm, a live act will take to the stage to entertain you while you digest your food. On the evening we were there, it was Evelyn Feroza who graced the stage and entertained diners with a mix of original tunes as well as renditions of well-loved classics and latest hits.  Do check out Shook! KL's websiteFacebook or Instagram page for the weekly performer line-up.

Thank you Shook! KL for having us and for the lovely evening ;)

The Cirque du Culinaire dining concept is available every Saturday night from 7pm to 10pm at RM168 nett. A beverage package is also available at RM88 nett which comes with selected cocktails as well as beers, wines and shooters. For non-diners, there will be a 1-for-1 Happy Hour from 9.30pm on selected draft beers, house wines and cocktails.

  1. Starhill! It's been years since I last dropped by there. In fact, it has been years since I was loitering around Bukit Bintang...or for that matter, since I've been to KL. Tied up with "things going on at home", not able to travel at this point in time. Would certainly love to check out this place...and the revamped place at Isetan, Lot 10 too - seen a lot of people blogging about these places.
