Sinar Pagi Nasi Padang, Singapore

A visit to Singapore is not complete without a meal at a local-style cafe, also known as kopitiam in local lingo. We headed to Sinar Pagi Nasi Padang, a Malay kopitiam along Circular Road serving delicious nasi padang.

Nasi Padang originates from Padang in West Sumatra, Indonesia. It consists of steamed rice served with a variety of precooked dishes. After we were seated, the waiters promptly takes our drink orders  and then served the food. The food was delicious, and our Indonesian media friends commented that the taste was authentic. I especially love the tahu telur, sayur lodeh and rendang.

Bergedil - potato patties - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the outside! Love 'em.

Rendang - tender beef chunks... so good!

Tahu Telur - super fluffy on the inside, served with crushed peanuts and a delicious spicy sauce.

Sinar Pagi Special BBQ chicken with spicy coconut gravy

Sayur lodeh - the sauce is super yummy! Eat with white rice, shiok!

They also have a stall at Geyland Serai Hawker Centre (Stall no. 209), open daily from 9am to 7pm.
