Ben's General Food Store, The Gardens Mall, KL

Ben's General Food Store in Bangsar was our favorite place for pizza, so we were gutted when it closed down. Since then, we occasionally visited the one in Publika. We were pleased to learn that Ben's General Food Store would be opening at The Gardens Mall, one of our favorite malls to hang out in.

One week into its opening, we visited the restaurant, located on the 2nd Floor (Robinson's side), taking up the spot previously occupied by Gudang. We immediately liked the place - super spacious and bright, with great interior design which The Big Group is well-known for.

As you walk through the doors, you will be greeted by rows of pastries as well as a salad bar and rotisserie in the open kitchen.

To celebrate the restaurant opening, they can offering a "2 pizzas for the price of 1" from now until 26 June 2016. We chose our favorite Wild Mushroom pizza (RM34) while the kids went for the Breakfast Pizza (RM30). Pizzas are freshly made to order, so there will be a slight waiting time, but it is definitely worth the wait as the pizzas are fab!

While waiting the kids had a milkshake each - Oreo (RM12) for Baby C and Rocky Road (RM14) for Baby D.

And the pizzas are here! We love the thin, crispy crusts on the pizzas. Our wild mushroom pizza was topped with  fresh wild muhrooms, mozzarella, mascarpone, parsley and truffle oil, suitable for vegetarians. On the other hand, the kids' BreakFast pizza comes with crispy beef bacon, chicken sausages, eggs, mozzarella, ketchup, and tomatoes. The kids enjoyed it!

They have a bouncy castle at the back of the restaurant as well (not sure if it's reserved for parties only but the waiting staff told our kids that they can play there).
