Tea Tales Around the World @ The Lounge, Hilton KL

Hilton Kuala Lumpur recently launched an afternoon tea buffet, which is available every Sunday from 17 April to 29 May 2016. Priced at RM100 nett per person, guests can enjoy the unlimited afternoon tea spread as well as selected teas from the new range of Ronnefeldt Tea Couture series.

Themed Tea Tales Around the World, Ronnefeld will be featuring a rare international selection of teas from seven best known tea growing countries of the world as well as the land of tea: England. There will be 11 featured teas, including Korean Flower, Taiwan Ti Dung, Nepal Jun Chiyabari, Japan Sencha Kiyomizu and Green Chinese Spring.

The afternoon tea spread includes scones, as well as tea-infused pastries and savoury items. The good thing about the afternoon buffet is that you can try everything on offer, and if there's an item that you like, you can go back for more of it. They're all dainty and pretty, which makes them perfect sizes for sampling ;)

I really like the scones here - light and crumbly, lovely with cream and jam.

Some of the noteworthy tea-infused items here include the Earl Grey smoked salmon on charcoal bread, which had an intense smokey flavour, as well as the Masala Chai rice pudding with apricot compote. The Earl Grey lemon tarts were excellent too, with a beautiful crisp base and tangy, lemony and dreamy topping.

The new range of Ronnefeldt's Tea Couture is excellent. Hubby went for the Royal Afternoon Tea Blend, the classic English afternoon tea. It is a delicate medium-strong Ceylon tea with a sparkling lemony flavour. Meanwhile, I had the Masala Chai, a black tea blended with classic Indian spices. A beautiful, fragrant tea which I had with milk and sugar. Later on, I also tried the Rooibos Chocolate Truffle, a non-caffeinated tea, a very drinkable tea with a smooth finish and sweet chocolate truffle notes and aroma.
