Kedai Kopi Keng Nam + Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village, Ipoh, Perak

Recently, we visited Ipoh, Perak to meet up with a friend and obviously, that meant an opportunity to sample the local foods at the same time. And boy was it quite a food trip!

We started off the day in a local shop, Kedai Kopi Keng Nam which housed three separate stalls in the shop. Here we had a sampling of the curry noodles in both dry and soup versions. Both dishes were good, but we especially enjoyed the dried curry noodle version as it had quite a bit more flavour than the soup version.

We also managed to try out the Ipoh version of chee cheong fun which uses mushroom sauce instead of the usual sweet, sticky sauce you find elsewhere in Malaysia.

After our breakfast, we made a short excursion to the outskirts of town to visit the Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Culture Village. It was a good opportunity to just enjoy some fresh air and greenery away from the hustle and bustle of the town life. We felt that there were many things here which can go from good to great, if a little more thought was given into the care of the place. Overall it was a positive experience where we got to enjoy the mountains and lakes.

In addition to the nature, you get to experience certain sections of the "village" which is filled with old memorabilia from the yesteryear. Certainly a fun trip down memory lane for a lot of us. Entrance fee is RM6 per person.
