Delectable Dim Sum @ Kim Ma Restaurant, Palace of the Golden Horses

Kim Ma is the pork-free Chinese restaurant located in Palace of the Golden Horses. Heading the restaurant is award-winning Chef Roy Wong, famed for his modern interpretation of Chinese cuisine. He has also collaborated with Dr. Jia, a well-known TCM practitioner from the Golden Horses Health Sanctuary - Wellness to create a unique blend of delicious yet healthy creations.

Kim Ma was refurbished about a year ago, now sporting a more elegant and refined environment. It has a seating capacity of 120 with 5 private rooms.

This November, dim sum lovers can enjoy some of Chef Roy's new creations from the "Delectable Dim Sum" promotion. There are over 20 different types of dim sum to choose from, and are priced from RM11 nett onwards.

Typically, dim sum is served in a basket of 3 or 4 pieces, which is not ideal for a group of 2 diners as it limits the types of dim sum you can try in a sitting, especially if you are small eaters. The great thing about dining in Kim Ma is that you can customise how many pieces of dim sum you would like to order, hence you can try more varieties of dim sum here ;) How wonderful!

During our food review, we tried 9 types of dim sum,  all of which were skilfully crafted. We started off with dried scallop dumpling with caviar which I really enjoyed. Remember to eat the steamed items while it's hot! ;)

Baked chicken puffs in abalone sauce

Black Mushroom Dumpling with Abalone Sauce

Pan fried chives with seafood

Hubby's favorite - baked puffs with unagi

Yuan Yang Glutinous Rice Dumpling... if you like , you will like this!

Another favorite of mine, spring roll with enoki mushroom and chicken

Verdict: Reasonably priced dim sum, made with good quality ingredients. A big plus point is being able to customise the number of pieces you would like to order.
