Visiting Stonehaven's Farmers' Market, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

One of the things I wanted to do while we were in Scotland for our holiday was to visit a farmer's market. Since we were only there for a few weekends, we had to plan it properly (in advance), as each town hold a farmer's market once a month only. Here is a guide for those interested.

We decided to visit the Farmer's Market at Stonehaven which is held on the first Saturday of the month (with the exception of January) from 9am to 1pm. Located in the Market Square, there were around 15 stalls when we visited, including Cambus O'May Cheese Co, Castleton Fruit, Crannach Coffee Shop & Bakery, Granite City Fish Co Ltd, Ingram's Homecure, J & M Fraser Organic Growers, James W Gammie & Son, Ola Oils, and The Devenick Dairy.

Beautiful vegetables

The produce are grown and produced locally.... so nice to just walk around, see the produce and talk to the farmers/producers... of course, couldn't resist buying some back home such as gooseberries, cheese and cider. Most of them will have samples for you to try before you buy.
