Hotel Review: Oasia Hotel, Sinaran Drive, Singapore

Our last trip to Singapore was a last minute decision, hence booking an affordable hotel room was a bit of a challenge. Swissotel The Stamford, where we stayed during our last trip and liked was fully booked for both days we were there.

Oasia Hotel met all the criteria we were looking for - cleanliness, location and price! It is Far East Hospitality's newest hotel brand, less than 2 years old if I am not mistaken. Everything in the hotel was well-maintained, so it still feels brand new.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Novena MRT station, which is 2 stops away from Orchard Road. Taxi from here to Orchard Road will take about 15 minutes and will cost less than S$10. Though the lobby was quite small, the staff was efficient and checked us in quite quickly. We booked a superior room for S$180++. Other rooms available here are deluxe room, club room and club suites.

The hotel is also 1-minute walk from the Square2 and Velocity shopping malls, and leading-edge medical facilities such as Novena Medical Centre, Novena Specialist Centre, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Mount Elizabeth at Novena Hospital.

Our superior room had a nice layout and design and was more than adequate for a comfortable stay. I was very happy with the condition of the room as well as its furnishings and amenities. The hotel definitely exceeded my expectations.

The king sized bed was very comfortable, plus the rooms are quiet at night, so we had a restful evening. The blinds and window shutters are electric operated ones, keeps the room nice and dark in the morning for a long lie in.

You can definitely enjoy a nice shower here, thanks to the powerful water pressure from the rain shower. There is a glass window whereby you can see through from the shower to the bedroom, but you can roll down the blinds and have some privacy. Nice that there is a bathtub (didn't expect that for S$180), had a really nice long soak the following morning.

The superior room is equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker with 3 capsules, and also Twinnings tea. They are nicely hidden behind a panel next to the 40" LCD TV.

Coffee/tea making facilities

We turned on TV and guess what we saw... my buddies, the sumo wrestlers! LOL.

We also went downstairs to the 8th Floor to The Oasis to check out the swimming pool and gym facilities. Next to the swimming pool area, is a wooden deck with garden setting (almost makes you feel that you're in a park). The 30m lap pool and jacuzzi was a nice and relaxing place, plus there were lots of deck chairs laid out (some with umbrellas and cabanas). There is also another pool on the 22nd Floor which is only available to Club Guests. There are 4 restaurants in the hotel, but we did not visit any of them.

Verdict: We loved our stay here at Oasia Hotel. The room rates are extremely affordable and the rooms are well-designed and beautifully appointed. Would not hesitate to return here and recommend this place to friends.

Full set of photos can be viewed on my Facebook page here.

Room rate: S$180++ for superior room. Would be nice if complimentary Wifi is provided at hotel lobby.

    1. I think their motto something like "oasis away from home" that's why they have the bamboo and decking with garden on Level 8. An oasis.

Yeah the room is really nice, better than another 5 star one we stayed at in SG.

  10. Looks like your hubby was in deep-though when you took the photo of him! I didn't realise that Novena is so close to Orchard Road & Velocity Shopping Malls. I've booked into Royal Plaza on Scotts for 8 days, very "sakit hati!" but hoh, I think it's still worth it. This hotel looks very clean indeed.
