Korean Food @ Restoran Haeun Khon, Amcorp Mall, PJ

I've never been to Amcorp Mall. I finally stepped foot inside last week because I wanted to visit BookXcess as I have heard a lot about their great value / bargain books. Since it was close to lunch time, we decided to find a place inside the mall to eat for convenience sake.

After looking through all the restaurants, we decided to dine in Haeun Khon, a restaurant serving both Japanese and Korean food. At first, we were a little reluctant since the photos on the menu didn't look appetizing. But decided this would be the best choice compared to the other restaurants we've walked past.

Surprisingly, the food here tasted quite good. For the price we were paying, I definitely had no complains. I had the Bulgogi Juk Sik (RM16.90) which is basically the beef bulgogi set, that comes with a soup, rice, 3 ban chan and fresh fruits. The beef was tender enough and quite a reasonable portion. The soup was a clear soup, with some egg - simple but tasty too. The ban chan served to us was kimchi, tofu and anchovies in a sweet glaze. I ate them all except the anchovies, no likey!

Hubby had the Dolsot Pipimpab (RM15.90) which arrived much later (I have almost finished eating by then). This seems to be one of their most popular items, judging from the amount of people ordering it. Served in a hot claypot, it was literally still smoking when it arrived at our table. Laden with lots of julienned fresh vegetables, crab sticks and a choice of beef/chicken, this was pretty satisfying.

Give it a good mix!

My haul from BookXcess ;)
and  managed to get some activity books for Baby C.

Verdict: The food is simple and good, I would return here if I dropped by the mall but it's not somewhere I would come purposely to eat. Amcorp Mall is pretty scary, there were several men at the car park holding spray cans and walking around (not sure what they're there for but it looks intimidating!). Parking is also very expensive for such a place.

Price: RM37.60 for two.

Location: Restoran Haeun Khon, Lot 336 & 363, 3rd Floor, Amcorp Mall, 18 Jalan Persiaran Barat, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. (next to McDonalds)

    1. I love reading, and like you, I have less time to read nowadays. Too engulfed in my blog and writing. James Patterson is good as his chapters are pretty short, so u can read 10 chapters a night. Usually I finish his book in 1 1/2 days. LOL.

  4. where did you park? Outside parking or basement? Outside is more expensive. Normally we park at Basement. RM2 for the 1st four hours. So far we have been there many times and touch wood, all safe.

Good buys. Try not to cry on The Last Song by Nicholas SParks.

    1. We parked outside. Wasn't sure how to get into any other parking. The place is so dodgy, in bright daylight also I fear for my life. LOL. I think we paid like RM8 for 2-3 hours parking.

Nicholas Sparks books always makes me cry.

  9. Oh those guys with spraying cans, they are those window car wash promoters. Trying to pimp their services. They will spray at 1/2 your window to & use a slide to wipe it to show how great their products & services are.
