iHaus Restaurant, Jalan Jati, Kuala Lumpur

Since Max Chin left to open his new restaurant Millesime in Solaris Dutamas, Max at iHaus has been renamed Ihaus Restaurant. Apart from the restaurant name and head chef, not much has changed around here. Service is pleasant as always. As for the food, although I have not tried anything off the a la carte menu yet, the set lunch offering still remains good.

Familiar Chinese opera singer faces adorn the wall

The a la carte menu has indeed gone through a slight revamp, however the items served on the set lunch were pretty similar to what we've had here in the past.

A glass of Ice Lemon Tea is included with the set lunch. We noticed that the glasses used were different, Max seem to have taken the uniquely shaped ones with him to Millesime!

Nice bread with olive oil/balsamic dip

Hubby had the Balsamic Glazed Baby Octopus on Mesclun greens with olives and fig vinaigrette. I had this here before and I really enjoyed it. Hubby was well pleased with the salad, commenting that the baby octopus portion was very generous.

The soups here are always excellent and the Vegetable Cream Soup was no exception. Wondefully rich and creamy as always, with slices of smoked salmon and borlotti beans.

I found the appearance of the Pan Seared Dory fish fillet with white wine dill cream sauce on sauteed potatoes browner than usual, but thankfully the texture of the fish was still moist and flaky. Looks like Dory is quite a regular on Ihaus's set lunch menu, with a slight variation on the sauce, served with potatoes or pasta. If you love fish, then you have to try this!

The oven roasted pepper duck breast fillet with Chardonnay mushroom melange on mixed greens is one of our favorite dishes at iHaus. We simply love the combination of the smokey duck with mushrooms. A dish packed full of flavour.

Verdict: The set lunch here has been consistently good. Its close proximity to Prince Court and easy parking are plus points for us. Perfect for a quick lunch! If only the set lunch was available on weekends, we would definitely be eating here much more often!
