I cooked: Sweet English Pancakes

Bored of having toast for breakfast?

This weekend, how about making some pancakes for a change?

Pancakes are incredibly easy to make and make a great breakfast alternative on those days when you want something other than toast. English pancakes are similar to French crêpes, only slightly thicker. Simply drizzle the hot pancakes with some honey or maple syrup with a light dusting of icing sugar for a tasty, wholesome breakfast.

English pancakes
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Serves 1-2

Ingredients
125g wheat flour, sifted
2 eggs, beaten
125ml milk
125ml water
2 tbsp soft brown sugar
Butter, for frying

1. Mix the flour, eggs, milk, water and soft brown sugar in a large mixing bowl to make a runny batter.
2. Heat a teaspoon of butter in a hot frying pan and add a ladleful of batter into the frying pan.

3. Cook the pancake on one side until golden brown, then flip over for the other side to cook.

4. Remove from heat and repeat until batter mixture is finished.

5. Serve immediately with topping of your choice. Enjoy!
