In an extraordinary fusion of culinary skills and impeccable craftsmanship, evian® the iconic bottled natural mineral water from the heart of the French Alps recently joined hands with Chef and evian® Ambassador Arnaud Dunand Sauthier and renowned Chef Darren Chin of DC restaurant for an exclusive four-hands dining experience, indulging eighty privileged Malaysians with an unforgettable evening.

The culinary partnership which promised an unforgettable evening of French sophistication and bold Malaysian flavours did not disappoint, with each dish thoughtfully accompanied by evian® Natural Mineral Water and evian® Sparkling Water, enhancing the sensory experience without overshadowing the delicate balance of flavours. Each dish from the exquisite menu showcases the Chefs’ combined culinary artistry and unique culinary backgrounds in a collection that champions the elegance of French cuisine and the vibrance of local Malaysian ingredients.

In crafting the menu, Chef Arnaud Dunand dug into his roots, the mountains of Savoie Region, France set in the midst of the French Alps while Chef Darren Chin contributed the Malaysian soul to the unique menu. Reflecting on the partnership, Chef Arnaud Dunand said, “This collaboration with Chef Darren Chin and evian® allowed us to transcend boundaries and create an experience that celebrates our shared passions. Evian®, with its unique purity, successfully elevated the overall tasting experience and brought out the authenticity of each ingredient, reminiscent of the purity of my childhood in the French Alps.”

The evening’s culinary highlights showcased an exquisite array of dishes:
· Snow Crab paired with shellfish and broad beans, setting the tone for the evening with a refined yet fresh start
· Banana Blossom, an innovative creation featuring aged banana vinegar served with gambero rosso and roasted coconut, bringing forth an explosion of harmonious fusion of textures and flavours
· Sophistication of Caviar, balanced with potato and uni
· Songkhla River Prawn with yellow curry bisque sauce paired with Langit black rice salad, bridging local ingredients with refined French techniques
· Succulent Irish Duck with zucchini and olives.
· A beautiful dish of Violet, with smokey sweet potato with brown butter honey, preceded the final indulgence.
· The culmination of the meal comes in a course of Extraordinary Chocolate with Patrick Roger, a decadent selection of light chocolate siphon mousse, shiitake chocolate ganache and black sesame streusel, providing a fitting grand finale to a sublime evening.


“It was an honour for DC Restaurant to host this unique collaborative effort between evian®, Chef Arnaud Dunand and myself. The one-of-a-kind fusion dishes that we created were an astounding success, judging from the numerous feedback we received from our guests over the two nights. Together, we created dishes that were not only a testament to our respective culinary philosophies, but were elevated by the subtle, crisp character of evian® Natural Mineral Water and refined evian® Sparkling Water. These waters complemented our creations and added that spark which brought our dishes to the next level,” said Chef Darren Chin.

With the finest fizz and lowest sodium content, evian® Sparkling Water allowed the Chefs to showcase their creations without other interventions such as a very pronounced taste of the water.

This exclusive dining experience was a showcase of culinary prowess, as well as a celebration of the art of pairing – where the purity of evian® water allowed the chef’s creations to truly shine.

Study Reports 113% Surge in Shopee Live Adoption, 65% Increase in East Coast Live Sellers




Shopee’s ‘Sayangi Malaysia, Jom Rai Lokal 2024’ study reveals a significant milestone in the Malaysian e-commerce landscape: over 100,000 entrepreneurs joined the Shopee ecosystem in 2024. This substantial increase reflects the rising acknowledgement of e-commerce as a vital and sustainable business model in today’s rapidly changing digital market.

“The impressive growth of Malaysian entrepreneurs on our platform this year is a testament to their proactive embracing of digital opportunities. Shopee remains dedicated to providing local Malaysian businesses with the essential resources including Affiliate Marketing Solutions, third-party logistics services, and Shopee Live to thrive in today’s competitive e-commerce landscape. We are proud to play a part in the journey for local enterprises to broaden their reach, optimise their operations, and achieve growth in this ever-evolving economy,” said Ming Kit Tan, Head of Marketing and Business Intelligence at Shopee Malaysia.

Shopee Live has emerged as a powerful instrument for local entrepreneurs, with a 113% increase in new sellers live streaming in 2024. This rise shows Shopee Live's growing importance as Malaysia's go-to platform for live commerce. Local sellers recognise Shopee Live’s interactive features that facilitate direct customer engagement, allowing them to build stronger, lasting relationships. The platform’s ease of entry and real-time feedback mechanisms are proving crucial in helping businesses stand out in a competitive marketplace, create meaningful connections with their customers, and reach nationwide audiences. The adoption of Shopee Live as a key business strategy is clear, with local sellers conducting over 1.4 million livestreams and receiving more than 27 million unique comments from users this year.

Petals Malaysia, a Selangor-based hair care brand, joined Shopee in 2021 to offer sustainable, wudhu’-friendly, Made-in-Malaysia products tailored to local preferences. Before joining Shopee, their market presence was limited to retail outlets, restricting their exposure and visibility. "Shopee provided access to a vast online audience, significantly expanding our market reach," said Khairul Azman, Founder of Petals Malaysia. "Shopee Live has also transformed our customer engagement. Through live sessions, we directly interact with shoppers, answer their questions in real time, and effectively showcase our products. This immediate engagement builds trust and drives purchases. We also use live polls and Q&A sessions to involve viewers, gather feedback, and enhance the overall shopping experience." Petals has sold over 26,000 units of their best-selling halal hair dye ‘Hair Color Shampoo’ since 2021.

The study also highlights a 65% increase in Shopee Live sellers from Malaysia’s East Coast, reflecting the platform’s success in helping local businesses expand their reach across the country. This underscores Shopee’s commitment in helping entrepreneurs from less urbanised regions to grow with e-commerce. East Coast sellers are using Shopee Live to build brand loyalty and deepen customer engagement, helping the platform create more opportunities for aspiring business-owners across Malaysia.

Shopee’s top 500 locally-owned enterprises have achieved an average of 50% year-on-year growth in 2024, demonstrating the platform’s effectiveness in driving business expansion. This success highlights the strength of Shopee’s ecosystem and its role in helping sellers innovate and grow. The ‘Sayangi Malaysia, Jom Rai Lokal 2024’ study also shows Shopee’s commitment to supporting local businesses and growing the digital economy. Shopee continues to be an important partner for homegrown businesses, offering tools and services that help sellers achieve new levels of success.

Nongshim, the leading brand behind Korea's No. 1 instant noodles, Shin Ramyun, launched two new flavours today: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Spicy Chicken Soup and Nongshim Shin Ramyun Stir Fry with Cheese. The launch event was held at Sunway Pyramid, featuring a vibrant celebration of Korean cuisine and culture. Both the new Nongshim flavours are crafted specially to tantalize the Malaysian palate.

The Nongshim Shin Ramyun Spicy Chicken Soup flavour comes with enhanced flavours and spices that goes well with chicken, waking up your spicy instinct with a fiery kick. Meanwhile, get ready to savour the cheesy and spicy indulgence of the new Nongshim Shin Ramyun Stir Fry Cheese. Both flavours are ideal for anyone looking to redefine their spicy and cheesy cravings. Malaysians, get ready for an explosive taste!

At the launch event, Nongshim also proudly introduced its latest brand ambassadors, Wany Hasrita and Khai Bahar, two of Malaysia's top Malay artistes and renowned vocalists. Both ambassadors put on a stunning show at the launch event debuting their new single ‘Makan Cintaku’, a beautiful rendition that captures countless moments of love, joy, and happiness—often made even more special by the comforting presence of a bowl of ramyun noodles that resonates deeply with all Malaysians. The new single was written, composed and arranged by renowned electric violinist, pianist, songwriter and producer Dennis Lau while Brendon Tan contributed the lyrics. Both Wany and Khai also performed their latest hits such as ‘Pedas’ and ‘Bayang’.

Nongshim friends, who are also top Malaysian foodies and influencers attended the launch event and participated in various engaging activities designed to celebrate the new flavours.

In conjunction with the launch of Nongshim Shin Ramyun new flavours, K Fry has introduced a Limited Time Only menu – the Shin Volcanic Corn Cheese Bokkeummyeon, which will be available from 15 August to 31 October 2024 at all K Fry outlets in Peninsular Malaysia. K Fry (urban Korean slang for Korean fried chicken) is a home-grown Korean brand that specialises in authentic Korean Fried Chicken and hearty Korean food with an urban twist.

Nongshim has been present in Malaysia since the early 1990s, as part of the Company’s strategy to expand its international market presence.
