Kedai Makanan dan Minuman WK, Cheras, KL

You know you've come to the right place if the sight of bright, yellow chairs and tables greet you as you arrive at the restaurant.

Take a seat and the lady boss will come take your order. Here at Kedai Makanan dan Minuman WK, the bilingual menu (in English and Chinese), along with photos are plastered on the wall, so ordering is a breeze. They offer wantan mee with different toppings, curry fish head noodle, fish ball noodles, chicken soup noodles and chicken curry noodles.

Menu

The most popular dish here is the chicken curry noodles; almost every table would order this. You may specify what type of noodles you would like (I recommend the yellow mee) and the lady boss would also ask if you would like cockles (siham). On our first visit, I got chicken drumstick and on my second, chicken breast. I prefer the chicken breast so will request for this next time.

The portion is very generous (RM7 for small); there were easily 5 pieces of poached chicken breast in my bowl. The highlight of the curry mee here is definitely the soup... rich, creamy and flavorful. You can add a squeeze of lime to the soup too, for an extra zing. The bowl of noodles also come with tofu pok, beansprouts and long beans. Love it!

Another dish which we really like here are the fried wantans (RM5 for 10 pieces). The wantans are fried to order, so they're always hot and crispy.... must-try!

They also offer various types of tong sui (aka Chinese sweet dessert soup). There's usually red bean soup and fu chuk yi mai (beancurd skin barley drink - RM2) - I had the latter and it had a lovely smooth, creamy consistency and it wasn't too sweet.

On a separate visit with BabySumoKids, we tried their wantan noodles.. it was pretty decent. The char siew was lean but Baby D liked the "sweet" marinade on the meat. I had the braised chicken feet, which was wonderfully gelatinous... been a while since I had this!

Wantan mee with barbecued pork and wan tan (RM7 for large)

Wantan mee with braised chicken feet and mushrooms (RM7 for small)

Fishball for the kids... 10 for RM5.

  1. I love a good bowl of curry laksa and since my favourite stall (from Imbi and then Pudu) has disappeared, it's time for me to find a new one. ^_*
