Lam's Kitchen, Cheras Sentral Mall, KL

*Jaya Grocer as well as Lam's Kitchen in this location has closed down. -Oct 2015

Usually, when we visit Cheras Sentral Mall, we will go to Fresco for their no-frills (good) steaks. However, we just had steak the previous night so we opted to dine at Lam's Kitchen for a change. Lam's Kitchen serves Chinese cuisine, ranging from roasted meats to noodle dishes to fried rice to stir fry (dai-chow type) dishes. It is located at the back of Jaya Grocer supermarket near the non-halal section.

Hubby ordered the three combination rice (RM14.80), and he selected roast duck, roast pork (siew yuk) and BBQ pork (char siu). The portion is decent for the price paid (taking into account the location in a mall too). Most importantly, the meats were all nicely roasted - I especially liked the roast duck as the skin was very crispy.

I went for the prawn dry wantan noodles (RM9.80). It was a pretty good plate of wantan noodles, accompanied with plump prawn/pork wantans in soup. Served with pickled green chillies.

A satisfying lunch - will return for some of their fried noodles/rice dishes.

Opening times: 10am to 10pm.

Service: Good.

Price: Total bill rm34.90, including 2 drinks.

Location: Lam's Kitchen, Cheras Sentral Mall, Basement Level, Jalan 2/142A Off Jalan Cheras, KM10, 56000 Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. (inside Jaya Grocer)

  1. The roast meat looks real good - hope the rice was too. I am rather fussy as to how rich and oily and fragrant the rice is - the ones at most places here are rather disappointing. Ahhhh!!!! One wanton soup for me, please - I've a weakness for clear soups. Slurpssss!

  5. The taste is just so so, but the servant there acting like boss. With that kind of price and the servant's attitude, this is a no no place to dine in.
