Morganfield's, Pavilion KL - Home of Sticky Bones

Usually when we're in Pavilion KL, we would head to Tokyo Street for lunch (either Santouka Ramen or Suki-ya) to satisfy our ramen or shabu-shabu cravings. Hubby was surprised when one day, I suggested a restaurant other than the two previously mentioned ones.

I have been having dreams about pork ribs (don't ask me why!) hence Morganfield's came to mind. The signature dish here is the "sticky bones" - an old fashioned prime PORK rib slow cooked and smoked in coal and hickory wood.

During lunch hour on weekdays, they have a promotion called "Oinkingly Top Value Set Lunch" whereby any set lunch ordered comes with free soup of the day or house salad and bottomless soft drink. Ordering the pork ribs a la carte or set lunch costs the same (plus extra freebies with the set lunch). We opted for soup of the day, a hearty Borscht soup, of Ukrainian origin with chunks of pork, carrots, potatoes and peas. Very yummy.

We ordered an extra portion of Bacon Wrapped Meatballs (RM14.90) to share. The deep fried meatballs were really succulent. Dipped in Dijon mustard, this was a great appetizer.

You can choose between three different sauces for your ribs - hickory BBQ, Tuscan baked spicy, and smoked peppercorn. We went for hickory BBQ, a sweet and tangy sauce with a hint of cider. The ribs were cooked to perfection... fall off the bone and tender. It definitely hit all the right spots. This was served with coleslaw and red skin mashed potatoes.

Hickory BBQ spare ribs (RM38.90 for half slab)

Nice rack - so tender

Oh and I finally visited H&M in Lot 10, KL. I really love the kids section.. bought lots and lots of gorgeous clothes for my kids :)

Reindeers everywhere - sign that Christmas is drawing close

Verdict: A porklicious lunch!

Price: Total bill RM64.

Location: Morganfield's, Lot C4.03.00, Level 4, Pavilion KL, 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

  1. Hi Yen! The ribs look awesome! But the bacon meatballs would be too sinful for my liking. :)

    2. Skip the Tuscan Spicy...the flavour is too one-dimensional...hehe =)

Was the redskin mash served piping hot? Did u enjoyed it?...

    3. I thought the mash was a little underseasoned lah.. I prefer fries with ribs, I think.

  5. It seems that the majority would be more interested in the bacon meatballs than the pork ribs! LOL! But I'm a big fan of pork ribs too! Glad to know there are more restaurants that serve PORK ribs instead of just beef ribs ;)

    1. Yeah kids clothes seem to be very reasonably priced but adult ones a bit pricey after all the conversions.
