Gelato @ Cielo Dolci, Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya, Selangor

I scream, you scream,
We all scream for ice-cream!

Lusciously smooth gelato

After lunch at Bulgogi Brothers, we were looking for a place for desserts and came across Cielo Dolci. The lady at the gelato counter gestured us to come in and try the flavours. We sampled the vanilla bean, hazelnut, salted caramel, coconut and mango sorbetto - all so good. We'll have a cup please, thank you very much.

Cielo, pronounced as "ceh-lo", means heaven/sky, in Italian. The name captures the very essence of our Dolce Freddo Artigianale (artisanal frozen desserts). The owners are professionally trained in Italy.

Gelato is healthier than ice cream, lower in calorie content, with a more intense flavour. Cielo's gelato and sorbetto are freshly made daily.

For a small cup, we got to choose 2 flavours, and we went for the salted caramel & fairy dust as well as coconut and gula melaka. I really loved the salted caramel flavour, and the gelato was lusciously smooth and creamy. I also thought the name was very cute - the fairy dust refers to the chocolate shavings on top of the gelato. The coconut and gula melaka flavour was a great combo too! The price is very reasonable at RM8.80.

Paradigm Mall is a little out of the way for us, but Cielo Dolci is one of the places that tempts us to return there again.

  7. I thought gelato is made with egg yolks & should be high in cholesterol but somehow, I still like it as we aren't eating it everyday! Will definitely give you my local contact number after the touch own. Now busy comparing the airfares & hotel rates in S'pore, argggh, so expensive in everything! By the way, I think wiill choose a hotel close to orchard road or close to Somerset mrt station, no time to look at the deal in Kl yet, wish me luck!

    1. I love gelato cos of its creamy texture, when eat these kind of things I never think of the cholesterol or calories. ;P

Yeah SG hotels are quite exp, last trip we stayed in Oasia, it's abt 2 stops from Orchard and quite nice/new hotel. Can consider tht also. If u need any recommendation with KL hotel, let me know your budget, I can help you narrow it down.

  9. The salted caramel with fairy dust was a bit too sweet for me while the coconut with gula melaka was only ho-hum...prefer their Earl Grey Tea which was quite aromatic and the gradual sourness of their Barley Lime...loved their Pear flavour too...hehe =)
